Scan Speeds & Scan Times for AntiVirus 2010 Software

Note: Scan speeds shown below are for default settings for each Antivirus program. Since the default settings for each Antivirus program are quite different, the testing below doesn't indicate which Antivirus program is the fastest, however, since most users don't alter the default settings it's useful to see how fast each program is in default mode.

The first graph shows Scan Speeds in MB/second, then in the second graph we calculate how long it would take to scan a hard-drive with 50GB of used space.

Antivirus Versions Tested: Norton Antivirus 2010, ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4.2, Avira AntiVir Premium Version 10, Avast! AntiVirus Pro 5.0, Kaspersky AntiVirus 2010, BitDefender AntiVirus 2010, McAfee VirusScan Plus 2010, AVG Anti-Virus 9.0, F-Secure Anti Virus 2010, & Trend Micro AntiVirus 2010 (Version 17.5).
