Scan Times for AntiVirus 2010 Software

Notes: Scan Times shown below are for default settings for each Antivirus program. 70 GB of used hard-drive space was scanned with each virus scanner. Since the default settings on each antivirus program are quite different, the testing below doesn't indicate which Antivirus program is the fastest, however, since most users don't alter the default settings it's useful to see how fast each is in default mode.

Antivirus Versions Tested: Norton Antivirus 2010, ESET NOD32 Antivirus 4, Avira AntiVir Premium Version 9, Avast! AntiVirus Professional 4.8, Kaspersky AntiVirus 2010, BitDefender AntiVirus 2010, McAfee VirusScan Plus 2010, AVG Anti-Virus 8.5, F-Secure Anti Virus 2009, & Trend Micro AntiVirus 2010 (Version 17.5).
