Kaspersky Antivirus 2010 Reviewed

We recently reviewed Kaspersky Antivirus 2010. Not many changes to report this year over the 2009 version since it is essentially the same program with a few cosmetic differences. Our Antivirus Performance Tests showed that Kaspersky 2010 was again in the middle of the pack, as was the 2009 version. No real change (a #5 overall ranking Performance-wise). Despite finishing in relatively the same position, Kaspersky 2010 did perform slightly better in several of our tests.
New features in the 2010 version include Kaspersky URL Advisor and Game Mode (see Kaspersky 2010 screenshots). The Game Mode will be of particular interest to the many gaming fanatics that use Kaspersky… amazing that Kaspersky didn’t have this feature previously with their tech-set user base.
Kaspersky’s installation was without incident, although it is again one of the longer installing Antivirus programs we’ve testing — clocking in at 2 minutes and 47 seconds. Those running into problems with Kaspersky Antivirus 2010 will be very pleased with their Help & Support - one of the top help systems in the antivirus sector.
