Firefox Updates Security

Mozilla has released some updates and patches designed to put a stop to threats categorized by Mozilla as critical. The threat apparently began when attackers could escalate intrusion when the victim restored a session with Firefox. Thankfully, updates are installed whenever a person attempts to start or restart Firefox. When Firefox opens, it asks if the user wants to install the updates. Once the updates are installed, Firefox opens. If updates are issued between session restores, you will normally get a permission request to update the system. One you do, you will need to re-start Firefox for the updates to be fully functional.

In all, there were 12 new updates, all but 2 of which were labeled High risk, or Critical by Mozilla. Some of the updates to security involved issues with Flash. Hackers were able to access computers using the Flash programs. Several of the updates specifically mentioned the Flash program as vulnerability. Most of the updates contained fixes for issues that involved hackers. The update system used by Foxfire by installing fixes on restart no doubt headed off more than a couple of internet attacks.

Mozilla seems to be keeping one step ahead of internet threats. That makes the joy of running the Firefox browser even more attractive. Mozilla is a sure competitor in the world of internet browsers. It is good to know that e-security is a top priority with them. With Firefox so ahead of the intrusion game, maybe they can concentrate on efforts to stop the system from freezing.
