Volatile Viruses
October 16, 2008 by Antivirus Ware.comYou’ve just received an email from a business partner and the subject line reads “URGENT REMINDER”. You don’t recall anything and proceed to open the email because it’s from your partner and they wouldn’t send you a virus, right? Wrong. Many of the most volatile viruses come from someone we know and trust. The reason for this is simple: viruses are not only being created with malicious intent but are specifically being designed to invade your contact list and attach themselves to a mass mailing that spreads to each recipient quicker than any natural plague or contagious disease known to man.
There are far too many viruses to even begin a list to contain even just the most volatile and damaging ones. Suffice it to say, once a virus is released into your computer, it begins to wreak havoc throughout your computer’s files and hard drives. The most dangerous viruses known today can successfully wipe your entire hard drive clean, erasing both files and software. What is, then, the safest way to avoid contracting a volatile virus of any kind? Treat your computer like a sterile environment where every outside contact is to be taken through a “sterilization process” before being allowed to reside in your environment. Maintain an up-to-date virus protection program. Don’t just install the program once and let it run occasionally. Keep it running all the time and schedule regular scans of your computer’s entire contents for viruses and update the program often as new viruses are being developed daily.
