eSecurity: Anti-Virus Protection
September 19, 2008 by Antivirus Ware.comOne of the biggest problems with home computers is trying to protect them. In fact, a great deal of computer purchasers are purchasing new computers to replace old computers that became over run and infected with viruses. If you are in the market for a new computer, one of the smartest things you can do to protect your computer is to purchase anti-virus software and install it immediately upon bringing home your new computer.
Anti-virus software is effective because it detects many viruses and eliminates files that are connected to and infected with that specific virus. Think of it like chemotherapy for your computer; as the files, or “cells” become infected, your anti-virus software will detect and eliminate them. Keep in mind, however, that like chemotherapy, not all corrupt files and folders will be eliminated by your anti-virus. In some cases, your computer will even still crash despite anti-virus protection.
If you are not sure what kind of anti-virus software to purchase, consider speaking to a representative at the store you bought your computer from. If you are making a new computer purchase, you will probably receive free anti-virus software that will work just fine. Make sure that you get anti-virus protection installed as soon as possible when you bring home your new computer.
