A Basic Overview of Computer Security

Unlike certain system requirements, computer security operates on the basis of different criteria and takes on restraints for what computers are not supposed to be doing.
We have a hard enough time just getting computer programs to operate the way they’re supposed to, so this makes computer security more challenging. Exhaustive testing is required because these negatives are complicated and very deceptive, and that proves to be very impractical for the majority of computer programs out there.
The purpose of computer security is to employ a technical strategy that converts the negatives into positive enforceable rules. Unlike other computer science venues, computer security has the tendency to be highly mathematical as well as technical. Generally speaking, there are four typical strategies involved in computer security concepts. These are (in order of priority or strength):
- the physical limitation of accessing a computer by only those individuals who will not comprise the security particular issue involved
- various hardware that imposes rules on computer applications and programs, therefore eliminating a dependence upon specific programs for computer security
- the imposition of rules on a computer program so as to avoid having to trust that particular program to be safe and secure
- strategies that both create both programming dependability and the resistance to subversive activities
