Although Norton offers an excellent product this leads many users back to the store in search of a light program that won’t weigh down their operating system. Users that love Norton will be happy to know that Norton has finally begun to address this issue and they plan to improve speed and efficiency in their next line of products.
Norton plans to fix the problems with the slower program by approaching it from several angles. First they will ensure that un-installation and installation are completely clean. Previous versions of Norton have left behind garbage in the user’s system. They also hope to make the product smaller in size and quicker to install. Most Norton products available now are around 400mb.
The company is also taking a look at how their program may slow down the windows boot up time. They would like to end up with a product that has no impact on boot up time what so ever. Additionally, they are working on cutting the amount of time it takes to actually scan for problems.
The company has been working on these issues for the past several years and they believe that next year’s release will be their best yet. Already the 2008 release with only some of the improvements has the highest customer satisfaction rate of any previous release.
