Screenshot #1:   The main start-up screen for Norton Antivirus 2009 gives you a quick overview of its settings and any problem areas that may need to be addressed. The Green Check-mark in the upper left-hand corner indicates that Norton 2009 is running without any problems. Norton's new Pulse Update feature downloads Virus Definitions every 5-15 minutes, so your computer has up–to–the–minute protection.

Screenshot #2:   Selecting "Scan Now" (see the screenshot above) allows you to run a Full System Scan or a QuickScan. The Norton QuickScan took approximately 22 seconds on our 300GB test computer.

Screenshot #3:   Clicking "Help & Support" in the upper right-hand corner brings you to Norton's "One Click Support" that tracks down problems automatically. If your problem isn't solved then you can use Norton's Step-by-Step Support, or contact them via free Online-Chat, Email, or Phone support.

Screenshot #4:   Norton Settings screen allows you to change a host of Norton 2009 features to your liking, including Scan Settings, Anti-Spyware Settings, Update Settings, etc. The default settings are fine for most users.

Screen Shot #5:   Norton Insight identifies trusted files on your computer to allow for faster scans of your computer since trusted files are no longer repeatedly scanned.
