Screenshot #1: The Kaspersky AntiVirus 2011 Dashboard can be launched from either the System Tray or the Windows Sidebar. A running tally at the bottom of the screen tells you how many files Kaspersky has finished inspecting in its latest scan.

Screenshot #2: Kaspersky's virus definition database listed itself as out of date by about 2.5 months over 30 minutes after installation. Updating it required manual intervention.

Screenshot #3: Kaspersky's Scan page includes a "drag and drop" pad that lets you drag a suspect file from anywhere on your file system, and drop it for an instant virus scan.

Screenshot #4: From the Tools menu you can access some great Kaspersky add-on features. One of the more interesting features is the virus-aware System Restore, which scans your system for incongruities possibly caused by malicious programs.

Screen Shot #5: Configure how Kaspersky AntiVirus handles infected files from the Tools menu. You can set security levels for File, Mail and Web scanning using a three-valued slider control that loosely mimics Internet Explorer's Security Levels slider.

Screenshot #6: Kaspersky's clear-cut reporting graph shows you instantly how many intrusions were detected on your system, broken down by type.

Screenshot #7: By default, Kaspersky parks itself as a Gadget in your Windows Sidebar - whether your sidebar is currently active or not. Click on the document icon to perform scans, or the wrench icon to change Kaspersky's settings.
